Hälsovetenskap (Public Health)

J’adore Genève.

In October, I had the privilege of traveling to Geneva, Switzerland with my core course, Public Health and Migration. The core course is basically your “major” while at DIS, and you travel with them during Core Course Week and the Study Tour. There, we visited international organizations focused on migrants, refugees, and public health interventions for those populations. Organizations included the UN, the UN High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR), the Red Cross, Doctors without Borders (MSF), and the Sphere Project, which puts out a handbook on how to properly carry out humanitarian responses (I was lucky enough to win a copy).

Here are some other fun things I did in Geneva:

Swans loved Lake Geneva, and so did I! We were able to get up close and personal with many of them during our week.
With dinners on our own in an expensive town, we enjoyed charcuterie and Swiss wine most nights.
Some nights we went to nice restaurants as well. Our nice waiter took this picture.
